About Forward Narrative Therapy

Therapy should be a space where you can show up as your full self without feeling like you have to translate your experiences to be understood.

Forward Narrative Therapy was created around the belief that understanding where you’ve been can help you decide where you want to go next. Culture, identity, family, relationships, community, work, trauma, and the roles we carry can all shape how we understand ourselves and navigate the world.

My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in understanding the experiences that have shaped you. Together, we can explore patterns, strengthen your sense of self, and work toward changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your everyday life.

Meet the Founder

Robert ‘Rob’ Lawrence II, LCSW

I’m a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationships, identity, and the expectations we carry throughout our lives.

My style is collaborative, direct, and conversational. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can speak openly, explore what’s happening in your life, and feel understood without having to filter or over-explain your experiences.

Together, we’ll look at the experiences and patterns that have shaped your story while working toward changes that feel meaningful, realistic, and sustainable.

Your story has shaped you. It doesn’t have to limit where you go next.
